They are manufactured from high-quality, heat-treated alloy steel–and the roller burnish finish in the seal bore improves sealing for better pressure. The spline and knurl areas have been selectively induction-hardened to resist wear; a pronounced knurl enables more positive press fit. The Sonnax stator support shafts are specially-designed for severe-duty race applications.
